| Culinary delights and hospitality at only a stone's throw from Amsterdam Restaurant Hotel het Jagershuis, set in a monumental building, is situated directly at the water's edge of the river Amstel in the culinary village of Ouderkerk aan de Amstel. Although only minutes away from the centre of Amsterdam, the RAI and Schiphol, in het Jagershuis you will find the peace and quiet of the countryside. Monumental building with unique terrace on the banks of the river The earliest facts known about het Jagershuis date from the 17th century. It was after a thorough refurbishment in 1964 that the building got itsī current purpose of restaurant and hotel. In that year a cottage-style wing, housing 9 hotel rooms and 2 junior suites, was added to the main building. This wing created a south-facing courtyard enclosed by the main building, the new wing and the water of the river. This majestic terrace, sheltered from the sun by the Catalpas trees offers a sweeping view over the river and the village centre of Ouderkerk, situated across the water. It has been said that the interaction between light and water is nowhere as beautiful as it is here. Authentic Dutch scenery within arms reach het Jagershuis is set in a vast area of natural beauty where lovely walks and cycle-tours can be made. Various sign posted routes lead you through Ouderkerk aan de Amstel. The "Ronde Hoep" tour for instance takes you to the bog-landscape, typical of North Holland, and the "Botshol" nature reserve. Holland, water land het Jagershuis is not only a great starting point for walks and cycle tours, it is also great for enjoying all the water has to offer. From our own "jetty" one can start off on excellent boat trips. This off course could be with the Jagershuis boat but we also have a great boat available, which you can taken without an licence. Passing picturesque villages, stretching fields and impressive country homes one gets to the famous canals of Amsterdam just by going down the Amstel river. It only takes half an hour by boat to get to popular water sport areas like the "Loosdrechtse plassen", the "Westeinder plassen" or the "Ronde Venen". Please check our Weekend Breaks for a relaxed weekend away. Extensive opening hours Our reception can be contacted daily between 7 am and 22 pm. The restaurant opens 7 days a week. Lunch is served from 12.00 until 14.50 all days except Saturdays and dinner is served from 18.00 until 22.00 all days of the week. Our bar is open from 7.00 until 24.30 each day.
